Kingston-Upon-Thames is a vibrant city in Southwest London (Greater London) that used to be a part of Surrey until the mid-1960s. The River Thames flows literally through its centre and boats can be hired to travel up and down its length (with Hampton Court being nearby). I think all this had something historically to do with Henry VIII whose entourage used the local rivers as we would use a motorway today!
